Dirsek Buku

14th June 2011
We decided to leave Bozburun early , at around 8am, as the forecast was for strong winds, which normally come up around midday.
We had a very pleasant sail around to Dirsek Buku, which is an isolated spot with no road access and one restaurant, with a stone pier along the shorefront the you tie up to stern in.

We arrived a little early, so sat on a mooring for about an hour before a berth became available as the previous nights’ visitors, a flotilla finally left after what we heard was a big night the night before. Whilst we were waiting on the mooring, a small boat came alongside with the usual selection of merchandise to sell to tourists. We bought a fresh loaf of Turkish bread, so his visit wasn’t totally wasted.
A local merchant came alongside to sell his wares

We had a relaxing afternoon , swimming, doing a bit of reading and a few of us caught a few hours sleep. It is a lovely tranquil spot, surrounded by steep, barren hills, with a few goats spotted from time to time on the hillside. The temperature continues to be very warm, well into the 30’s, but cools down to a comfortable temperature at night.
