“Pamina Blue” slipped their lines at 9.30am and headed off for Turkish waters, leaving the rest of us to spend the day exploring the Old Town of Rhodes.
Pamina blue leaving Rhodes
It is supposed to be one of the best preserved Medieval villages in existence, and one of the largest. It is still a working village with a sizeable resident population.

We set out individually, at around 10am, to spend the day as we pleased and agreed to get together on “Risus” for a drink at 5pm.
It was not difficult to spend hours walking around the village and soaking up considerable charm it has. We climbed up the clocktower which gave the best view of the town and surrounding area, and eventually settled down for lunch at a very typical Greek restaurant for a meal of mussels, stuffed calamari and Greek salad. The food was excellent.
We wandered back to the boat just after 2pm, and the temperature was now well into the 30’s. We decided to have rest on board in the air conditioning, rather than head back out into the heat. Macca and Gail also came back for a short break, before heading back out into the fray to make a jewelry purchase for Gail. We understand Macca did a hell of a deal.
Just after 5pm the “Xenia” crew arrived for drinks and the ‘Risus” team was all back at the boat. We had to wait till 7pm to get our passports and ship’s papers back before going to dinner, as we plan to head back into Turkish waters tomorrow.

Once all our clearance documents were received and fees paid, we headed back to the Old Town for dinner.
